Alcohol, Drugs, Marijuana and Controlled Substances

The use, sale, transfer, possession, or being “under the influence” of alcohol, drugs, or any controlled substance, while on duty, or in company vehicles, is strictly prohibited. In addition, off duty conduct, which may adversely affect the reputation and/or interests of Gold Rush Dog Tours, LLC is highly discouraged. The use of illegal drugs or substances is grounds for immediate termination.

“Under the influence,” for the purpose of this policy, is defined as being unable to perform work in a safe or productive manner, and/or being in a physical or mental condition which creates a risk to the safety and wellbeing of the affected employee, other co–workers, the public, or company property. This definition is determined at the highest level of competence due to remote camp location. Gold Rush Dog Tours, LLC conducts random drug testing.

The following employee acknowledgements are conditional to employment:

  • Employee acknowledges that this is a “damp” camp. Employee understands and agrees that moderate use of alcohol after hours is permitted.  No beverage with an alcohol content of over 7% is allowed in camp.  The employee agrees that the use of alcohol on Gold Rush Dog Tours, LLC property is a privilege and not a right. The Camp Manager has authority to restrict use at any time. The Employee acknowledges that underage consumption of alcohol, or providing alcohol to a minor, is ground for immediate dismissal.
  • By signing this agreement, the Employee states that they do not use, and will not use, any illegal drug, or controlled substance, including marijuana, during their employment with Gold Rush Dog Tours, LLC. Employees are advised that testing for controlled substances is conducted at random throughout the season at any time and without notice, including marijuana.
