The Demo Musher conducts dog demonstration tours in a safe, responsible, professional and friendly manner for Guests. Demo Mushers will be required to prepare and deliver a short safety / familiarization presentation to Guests including interpretive dialog on Alaskana and dogsledding throughout the tour.
Demo Mushers provide daily dog care and ensure the well being of each individual dog at the Skagway Demo. Demo Mushers participate in facility maintenance, cleaning and daily demo chores as assigned to meet the needs of day-to-day operations. Demo Mushers assist Management with coordinating tours, optimizing utilization of personnel, dogs and equipment.
Demo Mushers work closely with handlers to develop required skills and assist handlers in all aspects of the Demo, dog areas and tour related activities. Demo Mushers must maintain a positive attitude and outlook toward the Dogs, Guests and other Staff at all times.
Demo Mushers continually solve problems as they arise and function as a troubleshooter, resolving issues before they can have a negative effect on operational efficiency. Demo Mushers ensure proper maintenance of all operation facilities and equipment through daily inspections of the Skagway Demo and dog areas. Demo Mushers are encouraged to suggest new products and/or services for the betterment of operations.
Gold Rush Dog Tours, LLC requires all employees to abide by all policies of the Company, which include but are not limited to:

Chain of Command
Demo Mushers report directly to the Demo Manager. The Demo Manager reports to the General Manager, who reports directly to the Ownership Team. Should a situation arise that a Demo Musher feels uncomfortable in approaching the Demo Manager, the Demo Musher should address their concerns to the General Manager or the Office Manager. All other Demo Musher questions, comments and concerns must adhere to the chain of command.
