Musher’s Gear

The following is a list of musher gear for mushers bringing their own dogs to the Demo. Please note that not all are mandatory, though we have found them to be very helpful. Please write or inscribe your name on extra supplies or gear that you bring. Items in bold are required.

  • 1 harness per dog – It is helpful to have spares in the event of chewing.
  • Carabineers – Musher’s are required to bring all carabineers needed for their team.
  • 2 Sky kennels – These are best left in your truck until needed. They can be very useful in the event of a sick dog. Intermediate kennels are the most convenient size.
  • Vet kit – Though we have an extensive one in camp, it is recommended to bring a small one of your own.
  • Dog Brush – Because of the damp climate it is best to keep the dogs brushed out.
  • Nail Clippers
  • Fids
  • A few spare collars
  • S hook tool – Another item that is provided, but can be nice to have one of your own.

If you will be bringing your own Team, we feed Distance. It is highly recommended to buy a few bags ahead of time to get used to the food before the summer season starts.
