The Photographer facilitates the Gold Rush Point of Sale Photo Program in addition to the daily documentation of camp life and operations for social media applications. As Guests and Teams leave the Dog Yard, the Photographer takes action photos, printing pictures while the group is on the trail. As the Teams return, the Photographer welcomes Guests back at the Puppy Pen, tactfully presenting photos for purchase.
Following the Puppy Pen, the Photographer assists in guiding Guests back to their van for departure. The Photographer / Camp Manager Team thank Guests for visiting, reminding guests of the presence of Gold Rush social media and web pages.
This position participates in all camp chores and is responsible for maintaining and ordering photographic equipment, supplies and guest supplies.
Specific Duties
- Maintain the guest arrival area.
- Photograph customers as they are leaving camp with Action Photos.
- Print photos.
- Prepare photos in photo sleeves with Gold Rush Retail Card.
- Meet guests at the Puppy Pen after their ride.
- Assist in handing out Puppies for petting, camp tour.
- Present and sell photos to Guests.
- Collect funds and keep a tally of daily sales.
- Gather Guests with assistance of Manager.
- Maintain photo inventories and reorder when low.
- Check camera batteries and insure printer functionality.
- Reconcile Tally and Cash at end of day.
- Prepare deposit and send out in daily camp pouch.
- Maintain Sufficient Inventory of Ink, Paper, Frames, Plastic Bags, Camera Batteries and insure they are dry.
- Answer radio / phone as requested by Camp Manager.
- Participate in Camp Chores as required.
- Assist in morning scooping of dog yards.
- Assist Cook with dinner preparation after tours are completed (other crew members are feeding and cleaning up after the dogs).
- Assist dog yard crew with trail cleaning as assigned by the Manager.
- Train fellow coworkers to assist with photo project.
- Exercise good judgment while working in camp.
- Maintain guest safety.
- Assist Mushers with all feeding and cleaning, including early morning.
- Watch for and prevent Guests from wandering into dog yards, stepping over lines, and any other activity that might cause them injury.
- Assist in all camp chores including dishes, bathrooms, trail cleaning and maintenance, yard cleaning, maintaining community areas, interpretive tents, and personal areas.
- Assist mushers in cleaning trails at the end of the day.
- Maintain Puppy Pens continually throughout the day.
- Assist Handlers throughout the day as the need arises.
- Assist Mushers in dog yards as assigned by the Camp Manager.
- Fill in for kitchen duties as assigned.
