Sled Dog Handler Responsibilities:

Sled Dog Handlers ensure that customer service delivery is of a uniform and high standard. Guest concerns, questions and / or complaints are addressed immediately; Handlers bring all guest issues to the Musher and / or Manager’s attention and remains in close contact during resolution and follow up.

All employees are responsible for the protection and proper use of Gold Rush equipment and fosters a culture of safety promoting the application of associated Personal Protection Equipment Requirements.

All employees are responsible for ensuring quality standards and maintaining a superior working environment. Employees are encouraged to present suggestions for enhancing the safety of fellow Team Members, Guests, and Dogs, or ideas for streamlining procedures. Employees will assist in maintaining all necessary external (customer, vendor and trade) relationships, consistent with the objectives, operating philosophy and desired image of Gold Rush Dog Tours, LLC.

Sled Dog Handlers ensure that wasted and non-productive time is eliminated, continually identifying areas to improve service, performance and dog related objectives. Maintaining a positive attitude and dedication to productivity, Handlers accomplish assigned work and make decisions in a timely manner.

While guests are departing, all present and available employees acknowledge departing Guests and thank them for visiting.

Sled Dog Handlers will work closely with Tour Mushers in coordinating the daily operations. Ensuring that all dogs are cared for in a competent and careful manner, Handlers develop skills to assist dogs and Tour Mushers. Handlers will assist in general Camp duties as assigned by the Camp Manager.

Sled Dog Handlers work closely with the Camp Manager in greeting and thanking Guests.  Handlers greet Guests, escorting them safety to meet the Tour Musher and demonstration areas.
