Van Driver Position Expectation

The Van Driver position has the duties of guest transport as well as those of tour guide. Van Drivers will work throughout the camp to meet the needs of the day-to-day operations. Van Drivers may be assigned different duties on any given day at the Camp Manager’s discretion.

Van Drivers work closely with the Camp Manager to develop required skills and assist in all aspects of fleet maintenance and tour related activities. Van Drivers must maintain a positive attitude and outlook toward the Dogs, Mushers, Guests, and other Staff at all times.

Van Drivers continually solve problems as they arise and function as a troubleshooter, resolving issues before they can have a negative effect on operational efficiency. Van Drivers ensure proper maintenance of all operation facilities and vehicles through daily inspections and reporting. Van Drivers are encouraged to suggest new products and / or services for the betterment of operations.

Gold Rush Dog Tours, LLC requires all employees to abide by all policies of the Company, which include but are not limited to:

  • Standard Operating Procedures
  • Personnel Policies and Procedures

Chain of Command

Van Drivers report directly to their Camp Manager. The Camp Manager reports to the General Manager, who reports directly to the Ownership Team. Should a situation arise that a Van Driver feels uncomfortable in approaching their Camp Manager, the Van Driver should address their concerns to the General Manager. All other Van Driver questions, comments and concerns must adhere to the chain of command.
